Promoted by the Marine Debris Collection Initiative, these vessels work annually with the support of the Conselleria de Medio Ambiente.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Objetivo_Principal\"><\/span>Main Objective<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Its main mission is to ensure the preservation and good condition of our beaches in various regions of Spain.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tipos_de_Desechos_Recogidos\"><\/span>Types of Waste Collected<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>They are geared towards the collection of a variety of debris, from algae to jellyfish, including other plant debris. Occasionally, they are also involved in the removal of tar and oil residues.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Contexto_y_Zonas_de_Accion\"><\/span>Context and Areas of Action<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Floating litter is more common in coastal regions with high tourist activity. Its presence is notorious in boating and water sports areas, which motivates the implementation and expansion of these campaigns in places such as the Valencian Community, Malaga, <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/HtBvUe6chpjreKZh8\" title=\"Barcelona\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Barcelona<\/a> and Tarragona.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Diversidad_de_Embarcaciones_Pelican\"><\/span>Pelican Vessel Diversity<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Pelican vessels are categorised into two types. The larger ones operate on beaches and in harbours, specialising in combating marine pollution. In contrast, the more compact ones, known as \"Minipelicans\", operate in confined spaces and shallow waters.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Impacto_de_la_Campana\"><\/span>Campaign Impact<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Since its implementation in 1996, an annual average of 578 cubic metres of waste has been removed. In total, 8,092 cubic metres of waste have been collected, contributing significantly to reducing marine pollution.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conciencia_y_Responsabilidad_Ciudadana\"><\/span>Citizen Awareness and Responsibility<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Beyond the work of the Pelican fleets, citizen and business engagement is essential to ensure the purity of our waters.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_row-fluid vc_custom_1695898110082\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-12\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Participacion_de_Ecolmara_en_el_Programa_%C2%ABCinc_dies%C2%BB\"><\/span>Ecolmara's participation in the programme \"Cinc dies\".<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Recently, Ecolmara has had the privilege of being featured on the renowned programme \"Cinc dies\", broadcast on the IB3 a la carte channel.
