The proliferation of small boats of all kinds for the practice of water sports has increased the degree of risk for bathers on the beaches.

These measures guarantee the safety of bathers, who use the beaches for entertainment, by perfectly establishing the protection zones, as they are marked out.

Having perfectly marked areas helps to perfectly delimit the areas where elements such as windsurfing boards, water skiing, jet skis, sailboats, motorboats, etc. can be used and delimit them from the areas available for bathers, contributing to their greater safety.

In this way, the areas that can be used by bathers are established. Also a delimitation of the areas available for sport navigation, being areas where the use of sailboats or motorboats is allowed.

Other type of boats like the nautical motorcycles can sail by the zone of boats, but without exceeding the 3 knots and taking extreme precautions.

Ecolmare designs and installs beaconing systems using national (RD 1835/1983 of March 25, 1983) and European materials and regulations.

The correct management of the use of beaches requires a marking system that delimits:

Coastal strip beaconing

It is installed parallel to the coast, between buoys the separation may be up to 200 meters and this delimits the bathing area from the navigation area.

This area is reserved exclusively for bathers and water sports are prohibited.

Nautical channels for boat use

These marked channels make it possible to establish a totally different zone, between the areas used by maritime vehicles and the areas used by bathers.

In addition to being annoying, the presence of boats near the coast is dangerous for bathers, and this differentiation is extremely useful, mainly by delimiting the strip of sea along which these boats can navigate.

Therefore, it is the responsibility of the skippers of the boats, as well as those who use recreational vehicles such as jet skis, sailboats and paddle surf boards, to know this area perfectly, so it is very important that the area is perfectly signposted.

Areas reserved for exclusive use

A properly marked area makes it possible to establish which areas are for the exclusive use of bathers.

It is important to know that, in the case that there is no such marking, any floating vehicle can navigate in the area, but in the case that there is such an area, it is exclusively for the use of bathers.
